Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) is incorporated by reference into the Tridents Terms of Service. It applies to every user, project owner and end-customer who interacts with Tridents, regardless of jurisdiction. By using the Service you agree to this AUP and accept that violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, freezing of pending payouts and cooperation with law enforcement where required by applicable law.
1. Platform model
Tridents is a Software-as-a-Service platform. Project owners (the merchants) independently configure their storefronts and digital goods. Tridents provides the technical infrastructure (catalogue, checkout, payment routing, delivery plug-in) and acts as the merchant of record for the platform subscription only. For marketplace transactions on a project storefront, the project owner is the seller of record and is responsible for the lawfulness and accuracy of every listing.
2. Prohibited goods and services
The following may not be offered through any Tridents storefront:
- Real-money trading (RMT) of in-game currency, accounts, items or services that violate the end-user license agreement of the underlying game (including, but not limited to, the Minecraft EULA). Pay-to-win advantages that grant a competitive edge in vanilla survival or PvP modes are explicitly forbidden.
- Cheats, hacks, automation software, multi-accounting tools or any product that undermines fair play.
- Adult or sexually explicit content, content depicting minors in a sexual context, extreme violence, terrorism, self-harm or hate speech.
- Counterfeit, replica or unauthorised branded goods (including third-party Minecraft merchandise that is not licensed by Mojang/Microsoft).
- Firearms, explosives, narcotics, prescription drugs, tobacco, alcohol to minors, gambling without a licence, financial securities, cryptocurrency exchange, multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes.
- Anything illegal in the jurisdiction of either the merchant or the customer.
3. Minecraft EULA compliance (mandatory)
Every project owner who operates a Minecraft-themed storefront must comply with the Minecraft Commercial Usage Guidelines. In particular:
- You may sell cosmetic items (skins, cloaks, particles), purely visual ranks and access-based perks (early server entry, queue priority).
- You may not sell items, ranks or services that grant a gameplay advantage in vanilla survival/competitive modes.
- You must clearly disclose to customers that Tridents and its partners are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.
4. Prohibited behaviour
- Attempting to bypass age, KYC or authentication controls.
- Card testing, friendly fraud, chargeback abuse.
- Using stolen card data or third-party accounts without consent.
- Money laundering, sanctions evasion or transactions involving persons or jurisdictions on EU/US/UK sanctions lists.
- Probing, scanning or stress-testing the platform without prior written consent.
- Reverse-engineering, scraping or otherwise abusing the public API beyond the published rate limits.
5. Customer protection
- Every storefront must show a publicly accessible refund policy, contact email and terms of service.
- Digital goods must be described clearly enough that a reasonable purchaser understands what they receive before paying.
- Customers must be able to contact the merchant in their language within 48 hours via the email shown on the storefront.
6. Reporting violations
If you believe a storefront on Tridents violates this AUP, email support@tridents.store with a link to the page and a short description. We acknowledge reports within one business day and act on confirmed violations within 72 hours.
7. Enforcement
Depending on the severity, enforcement actions include a private warning, removal of specific listings, temporary suspension, permanent termination of the account and reversal of pending payouts. Repeat or egregious violations are reported to Stripe, the relevant payment processors and, where required by law, to the competent authorities.
